Works For Me Wednesday - Escape & Breathe the Fresh Air

Wfmwheader

As my five faithful readers are aware, I am visiting my folks, and we just took a trip to The Farm. It was nice to get away.

We visited. We ate. We watched the kiddos play on haystacks. I drove a tractor around for a couple of hours. Did I mention, we ate?

For an entire day I ESCAPED. No cares. No worries. No laundry. No dishes. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

Do you have a special place you can go to get away? Is it somewhere that brings back good memories or has the potential to be a new happy place? If you do, and if you can, go there today. Go! I highly recommend it. Find the time, before the winter madness sets in, to get away. Go, go, go!

Tomorrow, we return to suburbia and life near a big city. I'll have to face a yard torn up by plumbers, Girl Scout camping trips and everything else that makes my life insane. However, I'll go back feeling relaxed. It's a good feeling, and I'd love some company.

If you just can't get away, take a quick trip to Korea in the Fall here or here with my sister. She likes to get away, and she doesn't mind company, either.

Another special place is Rocks In My Dryer. I'm not sure if she'll relax you, but she sure can make you smile.

Here's a photo of me on a tractor, working hard. The guy with a chain saw who's lost his head is my brother. He's a pilot.

Don't laugh. I was really working! (kind of)

Thanks to Grandma for the photo.

You gotta remember to get out of town. Enjoy your time...

Thanks for the reminder. You look like you had..uh, fun. :)

That's a great WFMW. It's so important for our sanity. I hope everyone listens to your advise. Great photo to ;-) !!

We moms do need a special spot to "get away." My problem is that people keep finding me!! Thanks for reminding me of the importance of it all.

I take the family to visit my Mom & Dad. My husband was asking/complaining: why do most of our vacations end up at your Mom's house? Well, I'm 32, but my mom still takes care of me when I visit! She watches the kiddos, cleans up after me, and cooks me dinner. Why WOULDN'T I want to go there?

Thanks for the timely reminder. We used to go away often, but we have not done it at all in a couple of years. I think we need to get away and clear our heads. Thanks a bunch!

this post is a great reminder. i have to tell you, from your title i thought you were going to talk about how to "get away" when visiting other people...taking walks, etc, just to get some fresh air and alone time....but this post was great too! it sounds so nice and relaxing....

For some reason the first time i looked at the photo I didn't see your brother's legs, so when I saw the bit you wrote about a man with a chain saw losing his head I was really conerned, and then I took another look at the picture and it all made sense again!
