Last year the boys built a bed for themselves.
And it was good.
But a bed wasn't all they needed. Most of their furniture was hand-me-down, which is good, too. Unless it is falling apart.
For the last year I've been asking The C.F.O. to build shelves. And more shelves. And more shelves...
Well, you get the idea.
Due to his lack of response, I wasn't sure he had gotten the message.
So I dumped the boys' clothes on the floor in the living room and kicked the dresser to the curb.
Being wise in all things, The C.F.O. deduced that NOW was the time to build the shelves.
He built Sal's first.
There is a place for everything.
See? Sal can even store books on top!
And you will see it tomorrow!
Aren't you excited?

(Los Presidentes of Mount Rushmore.)
I am great danger of dripping syrup on my keyboard. The C.F.O. made sweet potato pancakes.
Oh. Yeah.
We are in the middle of a boys' room overhaul. We're almost finished, but the hallway is still full of their books and desk stuff. I stubbed my toe on it, and broke off half of my toe nail.
That was my justification for adding the chocolate chips to my pancakes.
Any reason works.

(All photos taken with Butterfly's digital from the van on I-25.)
Wyoming defies description, so I won't attempt to describe it. The photos will speak for themselves. I will, however, tell you three things I know.
1. I really want to come back some day.
2. You could drive for hours in Wyoming and never see another living being.
3. They have one REALLY LOONEY road construction flag person. (Nothing a couple years in therapy couldn't hammer out, I'm sure.)
Now, I give you, WYOMING via the van...
Tomorrow, YELLOWSTONE!!!!!

Introducing the newest inhabitant on the Planet...
Twinkles! It's a rabbit. Dr. R. will be coming by some time this week to tell us if Twinkles is a him or a her. The CFO's grandfather gave it to us. Twinkles is really kind of cute, in a fuzzy sort of way.
We are all excited to have a new member in our family. Some of us are more excited than others.
Right, Scratchy? No, no one called you for lunch. Go away.
Speaking of rabbits, we saw this sign while we were in Louisiana. You can't see the T from the road.
Grammar, spelling and interfaith relations all trampled upon in one fell swoop.
I removed the phone number in case you were tempted.

Random shots around the Memphis Zoo.
*(Note to homeschoolers - Check to see if public schools are on spring break before arriving at overcrowded zoo. You'll thank me.)
Obelisk. That's how you know you're in Memphis.
Sea Lions. Their 11:30 a.m. show was delightful.
The other lions were lounging in rather unbecoming poses. I won't subject you to that!
Meerkats. I wonder if he knows he's blurry.
I was blurry this morning, and I'm here to tell you it didn't feel good!
Pandas. This one is about a year old.
Oh, sure, he's cute and fluffy now, but pretty soon he'll be out all night partying and end up in a Bamboo treatment program.
Teen stars. It seldom ends well.
Bald Eagles. Our national symbol. He wouldn't look at me.
You can be that way when your face is on the currency.
And finally...
Hooliganus Familius. By the pond in the China Exhibit.
Out of their cages!
Security!!!!!!!!
(Thanks for the zoo membership, Aunt Sandy. We love it!)
