For New Year's Eve we're having red beans and rice, gumbo, potato salad and lotsa other stuff. All this means that I will be cooking and not posting tomorrow. So sad, I know. Not to fear, though. I have links for you. And not just any links. I have Louisiana links. They rock.
Michele asked me what a King Cake is. After I ranted and raved about a world in which a person can grow up without eating King Cake, I cried for her and looked up some links. Here's a good one.
Want to learn more about traditional Acadian Culture (that's Cajun Culture to you, cher!)? Take a virtual tour of Vermilionville, a cultural center and traditional Acadian Village located in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Not content with one party (Mardi Gras) per year, we have festivals. And more festivals. And, you got it, even more festivals.
Need stuff for tailgating at a Ragin' Cajuns event? Louisiana Hot Stuff has...um, hot stuff. I was there over the weekend, drooling on a Cajuns jacket. Maybe next year, Santa?
Finally, here are four rules for marrying a Cajun. I agree with three out of the four, but I'm not saying which ones!
Mais, Happy New Years, y'all.
Happy New Year to you! (not too late...)
Our family just got back from the frozen north of Michigan, so now it's time to settle back in to Cajunland and check in to all my favorite blogs~
