Day 2 and The Dancing Cadet

The children are still alive. 36 hours of each others company has not diminished the utter joy of sleep-over-hood. And the house is still standing, which is also good.

We were slow to start this morning (and by "We" I mean "I"), but we are rolling right along now! PB&J has finished her school work, having gotten up at 6 am to start on it, and the others are well on their way. After they finish, I am planning a trek to the library. I am hoping to wear them out a bit. 8 blocks there. 8 blocks back. I might survive it. Maybe.

It Should Never Happen Here

I was skimming through some blogs today, and I ran across a rampant case of post plagiarism outrage. Can't say I blame them. I'd be outraged, too. That is, I would be outraged if someone claimed my writing as their own. Not that that is likely to happen. Here is why...

1. Most of my 12 faithful readers have better grammar than I do. They wouldn't be caught dead claiming this stuff. (Hi, Mom!)

2. I write about children not taking out the cat box. I write about slugs. I write about homeschooling three kids. I write about scraping dead chickens off the lawn. Enough said. Am I right?

3. I am constantly posting stupid pictures of my socially deviant cat.

Yow-za! Who would wanna steal this?

4. Entertaining Riveting Captivating Colorful Unique I have trouble finding the right word to describe my writing style. While I am pretty certain it's better than the back of the nearest cereal box, I wouldn't call it captivating. Captivating? This? Um, no.

5. Having limited readers denies would be thieves anonymity. (I know where you sleep at night, people. Ha! Just kidding. Or am I?)

See? I'm safe. Safe as houses! What does that mean, exactly? Safe as houses? Are houses necessarily safe? And what is it they are safe from?

But I digress.

While I cannot say that no one will ever steal the content of this blog, it think I can say that it should not happen. And if it ever does happen, someone please get that person some help...

Because they desperately need it.

Sea Lions. Their 11:30 a.m. show was delightful.

 I was blurry this morning, and I'm here to tell you it didn't feel good!

Oh, sure, he's cute and fluffy now, but pretty soon he'll be out all night partying and end up in a Bamboo treatment program.

Cells Alive, Very Homeschooly!

I haven't written of homeschooly stuff recently. Rest assured, Mother, that we have been doing homeschooly stuff. Lots and lots of homeschooly stuff.

(Homeschooly - My goal is use it so much that it catches on and it becomes an actual word.)

I wanted to share a cool website with you, just in case you feel like doing homeschooly stuff at your house! It's Cells Alive. Ooo! We love it. Particularly the Interactive portion of the site.

(Tiger can't get enough of the computerized voice saying,"En-do-plas-mic Re-tic-u-lum." He giggles. I giggle at him giggling. The cat giggles at me giggling at Tiger's giggling...)

It's fun and, don't tell the kids, it's educational! Very, very homeschooly.

Or is it homeschoolish? I'll have to think about that one.
