and oddly enough, we've gotten a little bit of stuff done. July has been meandering by. It's been pretty cool (for July) and it's just starting to get hot. Inside our air conditioned abode, we've been real busy doing, well, stuff.
Salamander has one merit badge to finish to achieve his Life rank in scouts, so he's been plugging away at it. Of course, every now and then he needs to take a break and continue his quest to build the perfect town on Sim City. All work and no play...
Butterfly and I are volunteering at Vacation Bible School in the afternoon (Vacation Bible School - the three most dreaded words in all Christendom?). I have eight four and five year olds. They haven't tied me to a tree yet, so I think it's going well. Tiger is enjoying his reign as B.M.A.V.B.S. - Big Man at Vacation Bible School. He and his posse are too cool for words. The fun ends Friday. Thank you, Lord.
I've been busy making jams and jellies, cleaning closets, getting vehicle tags renewed and trying, trying to get ready for school to start. I spent an entire afternoon on the phone with St. Jude's hoping to find out if I could purchase one of their old microscopes. Apparently, no one knows what happens to them. They just disappear. It's quite the mystery. Maybe tomorrow...
Finally, we've all been spending quality time on the hammock. It can get neglected during the other seasons. In the shade of two trees, it's the perfect spot for reading, listening to an MP3 player or solving the world's problems while resting your eyes. These things need doing, ya know.
Yep. We've not been up to much, but at least it's something. To tell the truth, I'm not in a real big hurry to do more.
